(1) Sports drinks are marketed as essential gear for any workout, and their sales suggest the message works. (2) Yet exercise physiologists have long noted that for a casual runner, plain water replaces everything the body loses in an hour of jogging. (3) The distinction matters only to endurance athletes, who exercise long enough to deplete salt stores. (4) The drink industry has little reason to advertise this nuance, since the casual market is where the volume is.
Q: The text is mainly about
- A. the science of hydration during exercise(范围过大,文中只谈运动饮料营销)
- B. how marketing widens the market for a product most people do not need(正确项:各句串线——营销制造了不必要的"必需品")
- C. the differences between sports drinks and water(以偏概全,只是第 2-3 句的细节)
- D. the training needs of endurance athletes(无中生有,原文未展开训练话题)
(1) A 2024 survey of 1,100 remote workers found that reported productivity rose when meetings were batched into two afternoons a week. (2) The gain, however, disappeared in teams whose managers still required daily check-in calls.
Q: According to the text, the productivity gain
- A. applied to all remote teams in the survey(以偏概全:survey≠all,且第 2 句明确例外)
- B. existed only where daily supervision was relaxed(正确项:第 2 句"管理仍要求每日电话的团队收益消失"的同义改写)
- C. resulted from fewer meetings alone(过度推理:原文只说"batched",未归因于数量减少本身)
- D. was strongest in teams with daily check-ins(原文反向)
(1) Cities that planted dense street trees in the 1990s now spend less on summer emergency care, according to hospital records. (2) The correlation survives controls for income and age structure.
Q: It can be inferred from the text that
- A. tree planting reduces the need for hospitals(过度推理 + 原文反向:是"急诊开支"少,不是医院少)
- B. the link between trees and health spending is unlikely to be explained by wealth alone(正确项:第 2 句"控制收入与年龄后相关仍成立"的最小推理)
- C. street trees were planted for health reasons in the 1990s(无中生有:种树动机原文未提)
- D. income is the main driver of summer emergencies(过度推理:原文只说控制了收入变量)
(1) Micro-credit is widely celebrated as a ladder out of poverty. (2) Its champions cite millions of small loans disbursed. (3) Repayment rates, however, tell us little about whether borrowers' incomes actually rose, and the best-controlled studies so far find effects that are modest at best.
Q: The author's attitude toward micro-credit is
- A. supportive(把第 1-2 句转述的他人立场当作者立场)
- B. skeptical(正确项:however 后 + modest at best 的评价词)
- C. indifferent(写了整段不可能无所谓)
- D. confused(作者立场清晰,不迷茫)
(1) Grand public promises often survive on momentum long after their numbers stop working. (2) The Hollywood Walk of Fame, for instance, still draws tourists although it has honored few genuinely current stars in decades.
Q: The author mentions the Walk of Fame in order to
- A. show that tourist attractions can outlive their appeal(就事论事,仍在例子内部打转)
- B. illustrate how institutions persist on reputation after their substance fades(正确项:第 1 句观点句的转述)
- C. criticize the taste of Hollywood's honoring committee(无中生有:原文未谈品味)
- D. prove that current stars avoid public honors(过度推理,例子细节的过度引申)
(1) The policy brief promised to "streamline" permitting, but in practice the new process simply buried small builders under the same paperwork, now filed through a slower portal.
Q: The word "streamline" is closest in meaning to
- A. make more efficient(正确项:承诺义"简化提效",与 but 后"实际更慢"构成合理转折)
- B. enlarge(无中生有)
- C. delay(偷的是 but 后的实际结果,不是"承诺"的词义——考的是引号内 promise 的内容)
- D. cancel(与原文冲突:流程仍在,只是换了入口)
(It is true that...but...)
- 题干 "The author mentions the Stanford experiment in Paragraph 3 to..."
- 出处句为 "Only firms with more than 200 staff were required to publish the data." 选项 "All companies must disclose the data."
(Only firms >200 staff → all companies,限定范围被放大;同时隐含原文反向:requirement 不覆盖全部)
